Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the WordStudy mobile application and website at wordsstudy.com (collectively, the "Service"), operated by Daniil Pochukaev, a registered individual entrepreneur in the Republic of Armenia (TIN 20286989) ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the European Economic Area) to use the Service. By using the Service you represent that you meet this requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Service on devices you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial study of vocabulary.

4. Subscriptions and payments

4.1 Plans

Prices in your local currency are displayed in the App at checkout and set by Apple App Store or Google Play. They may differ from the USD price due to local taxes and currency conversion.

4.2 Billing

All purchases are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play, subject to their respective billing terms. We do not see or store your payment method. Subscriptions automatically renew unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.

Refunds are handled by Apple or Google according to their policies. We do not issue refunds directly. Request a refund through your store account: Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com; Google at play.google.com/store/account/orderhistory.

If we offer a free trial, you must cancel before the trial ends to avoid being charged. One free trial per Apple ID / Google account.

4.6 Price changes

We may change prices for new purchases or renewals. Existing subscribers will be notified at least 30 days in advance via in-app notice and the email on file. Lifetime purchases are not affected by future price changes.

You retain all rights to content you create in the Service (notes, custom collections, etc.). By using the Service you grant us a limited license to store, transmit, and display your content solely to operate the Service for you. We do not claim ownership and do not use your content for training models or third-party purposes.

7. YouTube and third-party content

The YouTube import feature processes publicly available subtitles from videos you choose. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to use the source video. We do not host YouTube video content; we only extract vocabulary from publicly available subtitles. YouTube is a trademark of Google LLC; WordStudy is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Google or YouTube.

8. Intellectual property

The Service, including the dictionary, software, design, logos, and mascot, is owned by us and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. The CEFR framework is a standard from the Council of Europe.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that vocabulary classifications are 100% accurate for every learner's situation.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) US$50. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost data, or business interruption.

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced in-app at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

15. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Armenia, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the competent courts of Yerevan, Republic of Armenia, unless mandatory local consumer law in your country of residence grants you the right to bring proceedings in your local courts.

16. Severability and entire agreement

If any provision of these Terms is held invalid, the remaining provisions remain in effect. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.
