Nora and her friend Ella planned their holiday for months. They wanted to spend a week on a famous island with beautiful beaches, busy markets and good restaurants. They made a booking at a small hotel and bought two tickets for the morning ferry. The ferry was full of tourists. After two hours, it stopped at a tiny island, and a man shouted the name of the island. It sounded right, so they got off with their bags. The ferry left, and the girls looked around. There was one café, a few houses and a lot of goats. "This is not our island," Ella said. "The names are almost the same!" The next ferry was in three days. They called the hotel to ask for a refund, but the line was busy. Then a woman from the café came out. "You can stay with my family," she said. For three days, they did things that were not in any guidebook. They didn't go on a guided tour or a boat excursion, and they didn't visit a single attraction. Instead, they followed a quiet route along the coast, took a long stroll through the old olive fields and helped the family cook dinner. In the evenings, they would wander along the beach and watch the stars. When the ferry came back, they decided not to get on it. They stayed for the whole week. Later, the hotel gave them a refund. The only souvenir they bought was a small jar of honey, but it was the best holiday of their lives. Sometimes the wrong place is exactly the right one.
